Overview
The E2 222 fault on a Worcester Bosch Greenstar i (System / Combi) indicates a problem with the central heating flow temperature sensor (an NTC thermistor). Specifically the boiler has detected a short circuit or an electrical fault with the flow sensor or its wiring, so the control cannot read the flow water temperature correctly. When this happens the boiler will usually show the error and lock out to protect the system. This fault commonly occurs because the flow sensor itself has failed, a cable or connector has become shorted or corroded, moisture has reached the sensor wiring, or in rarer cases there is a fault on the control PCB. - Reassemble, restore supplies and run the boiler through several demand cycles to confirm the fault is cleared and the flow temperature reads normally.
